Most times, yes. Although, to me, it depends on how you say it. If you say it in a rude or mean way, then I’d rather not have you call me that nickname at all, but if you say it in a nice friendly way, then it’s alright. 

Nope, never been called Ruby in my life or death. Of course you can’t, no one likes being unoriginal, but I guess it depends on the type of person they are. Some people could like unoriginal nicknames and thankfully I’m not one of them. So, good job on coming up with Ruby.
